Storytelling for nurseries

Children of all ages love stories, but little children make storytelling a magical experience. With "Stories and storytelling" I encourage children to use their imaginations whilst also learning something of the rich variety of cultures we have around us in the world. A typical session will incorporate a mix of traditional and contemporary tales with arts and crafts, music and dance. I bring with me a treasure box containing artefacts from the country we are focussing on and using these props and the children's ideas I tell stories which are designed to teach the children something of the country which we are focussing on. In addition to having a lot of fun, the children go away at the end of the day with some knowledge of the history, location and culture in that country.

My sessions work best with relatively small groups of children, no more than 15 in a group so that each child gets a chance to participate. I charge £40 plus travelling expenses per session. I am based in Hertfordshire and can travel to locations in London and the surrounding areas.
